Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development - MCED - is a State Level Training Organisation Promoted by Government of Maharashtra and started functioning from 1 st October 1988. MCED is a Joint Venture of the State Level stalwart Industrial Corporations namely, SlCOiVI, MSFC, MSSIDC, MIDC, MELTRON and MITCON.
The focus of MCED activities is developing entrepreneurs. It is based on the concept that "Entrepreneurs need not born, they can also be developed". Traits of entrepreneurship are found in any person from any walk of life irrespective of caste, religion, location, language etc. Persons could be developed into a competent individuals through a systematic and scientific training.
As the prime motive of the institute, MCED is carrying on various training courses such as DPSE, VTP, MDP and EDP to create awareness about entrepreneurship to develop career and an atmosphere conducive to entrepreneurship. Thus MCED has succeeded among educated unemployed, youth, entrepreneurs and workers. The Head Office of MCED is situated at Aurangabad and Regional Offices are located at Pune, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amarawati, Nagpur and Oosmanabad in the State. In each and every district of the Maharashtra State, MCED has its office in the premises of District Industrial Centre and is headed by the Project Officer appointed.
